Stop Existing, Start Living!

All of the animals except for man know that the principle business of life is to enjoy it.
~Samuel Butler

How well said! We and tend to live life by years and not in moments. Life is not all living a lifetime, the essence lies in living a lifetime in each moment. Enjoy each day to the fullest. It is often said that live each day as if it were your last. I say, live each day as if it were your whole life. This might prove to be a more positive approach towards life in general.
If we consider death as the end of life, we are being apprehensive towards the inevitable future. But if we enjoy the bliss of life in breathing in a lungful of fresh air free of any smoke etc., if we find extreme joy in the chirpings and twitterings in morning fresh breeze, if we can spread cheer around, if we can make at least one crying person smile, if we can do justice to the deserving being deprived of the things that the undeserving have in plenty, if we can laugh at the joke which targets us, if we can just be ourselves at all times, if we don't exhibit a poker-faced personality....then we can say we are living in the real sense of the term. Otherwise we'll be merely existing!!!
So better wake up and start living...stop existing!

Follow your dreams!

We all have a God residing within us, who listens to our prayers and grants them. All that we need to do is just listen to Him and follow our heart. Don't kill your emotions, feelings and intutions...have the heart to pursue your dreams and you'll certainly reach somewhere one day.

Be Positive: the glass is always half full

Pic src: Optimism

“Life is never so bad that it cannot get worse”, this is what Bill Watterson had to say about life in his famous cartoon strip ‘Calvin and Hobbes’. The message is of sheer optimism. The glass is always half full’ and ‘every cloud has a silver lining’ are age old adages used very frequently to imply hope, optimism and positive thinking.
Robert Browning, the famous English poet, known for his optimism went on to say, “God’s in his heaven; all’s right with the world”. The basic idea behind being optimistic is that we shouldn’t think that life doesn’t offer the ‘undo’ or ‘redo’ options as a computer keyboard does. Rather, take life to be clay and yourself to be a sculptor, who moulds the clay into the desired shape. Believe that you make your own life. But if you fail or face disappointment, modify the shape of the clay or remould it. Don’t consider a failure, dejection or disappointment as an end. Rather take it as a new beginning:
“I rise I awake
to a new beginning
from this end starts
an endless journey.”     © Amritbir Kaur

You must have all heard about the oasis, which is a green area in a desert. Now if we compare the desert to our life: while journeying through the vast deserts of life if we hope to find an oasis the journey would be all the more beautiful and life more lovable.
I would love to tag here one of my poems on optimism: I STILL BELIEVE
