The Writer's Words

The past stood witness to my present uncertainty while future was evasive. And it is this uncertainty of the present and the evasiveness of times to come that gives birth to poetry and poetic words. The standstill time stays put, the  moment doesn't pass, yet the day is gone. In gathering these moments the life is gone. What gives us a reason to wrap up these bits into one whole is our dreams, the reason to live. Dreams, even while staying silent, speak volumes. Give words to your dreams and they come alive!
Turning the pages of life I find some words half-baked, some half-erased, others half-written. I choose to tell those tales now.
I too have grumbled at bitter loss, have experienced the pain of being a lost winner, my eyes have  had tear behind laughter and lips trying to hide pangs of pain. Yet I always believe one should hold on and keep trying to string the fallen beads. In the end, the story of what has been will connect to what will be, though the moorings of the past will never be snapped!

Leaving behind...

"What you leave behind is
not what is engraved
in stone monuments,
but what is woven into
the lives of others."
Pericles,
Greek Statesman

This is exactly how the world remembers a dead man. They leave a part of themselves here on this Earth with us before 'leaving'. I say 'a part' because after death a man is not remembered as one unit. We often stay attached to his memories, the moments, the smile in his eyes - all those lingering thoughts that stay alive in our minds as fresh as ever.
After all it is not the footprints that matter, it is the imprints on our minds that stay on forever. And sometimes they cannot be blown away by the sands of time, they just stay there...

Give it a thought!

"Never Blame A Day In Your Life.
Good Days Give You Happiness.
Bad Days Give You Experience.
Both Are Essential In Life.
All Are Gods' Blessings."

I got this SMS a few days back. The message set me thinking. It is the universal tendency of human beings to blame something or the other for his mistakes. If not anything else we put the burden on the day - saying it is inauspicious. In reality, it all depends on our actions. There is a direct relationship between our deeds and the results we get. Moreover, we should accept what comes our way. As has been rightly said, "Bad days give you experience". Life is presented before us in all the shades. And anyway, a uniformly coloured life would be too monotonous!
